About Cat (she/they)
Cat has been practicing yoga for most their life and is a Canadian Yoga Alliance Certified RYT500 who has just completed their 300 hour Hatha Vinyasa teacher training this summer of 2020 with Rebekka Walker.

Cat has always searched for the full range of life’s experiences, which took them down some difficult paths into addiction and depression, but also on amazing trips to many countries, and to the path of yoga. Cat began a daily practice seven years ago when they quit drinking to pursue a holistic lifestyle and a deep search within. Lately, Cat has been interested in the spiritual side of yoga, studying the spiritual texts and delving into a daily meditation practice.

Cat believes that yoga and mindfulness practices can help with many issues that we are facing today, from anxiety and depression to finding greater meaning in life by creating connection with our inner world and community with others.
Cat's classes are upbeat and playful, with dynamic movement and a focus on alignment that welcomes all people no matter their experience level; yoga is for EVERY body!

Cat is from Vancouver and has been living on Bowen Island for four and a half years. They love nature and is truly humbled by the beauty and healing power it has. If Cat’s not practicing yoga, you can usually find them hiking in the trails, swimming in the ocean, or reading a book at home with their two cats.

Yoga is firstly for individual growth,
but through individual growth,
society and community develop.

Testimonials
I love Cat’s classes! After a session with Cat, I feel energized, calm, positive and reflective. Cat is knowledgeable and passionate about yoga and eager to share with their students. Cat invites their students to take a journey with them to nourish both our bodies and inner selves. Each class is designed to be a unique mindful experience with a theme or focus. Cat is intentional and thoughtful in their choice of postures and flows, and provides excellent instruction, making it easy for beginners to follow along and practice proper alignment while providing challenges for more advanced students.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Cat as a teacher at Nectar Yoga this past week. I noticed their genuine desire to inspire during meditation, and appreciated it during a time of my life that I need it the most.
